Urbanization Encosta do Sol is 3 km from the city center of Lagos, in the Algarve, in the south of Portugal.
It is known as the walled old town and for its golden sand beaches. It is also known worldwide for the time of discoveries because it was here that Infante D. Henrique left in search of new worlds and Gil Eanes was born here.
In 1573 it was elevated to city by D. Sebastião and became the capital of the Algarve. Glory times were living however with the 1755 earthquake the city was destroyed bringing misery. But always focused and supported by the Sea it recovers, and today it is one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal and with the greatest demand for holiday and residential tourism.
